Praying Ephesians Chapter 1

The revelation of all the power that was authored by the Holy Spirit and written by Paul in Ephesians chapter one has barely begun.   My book, Predestinated: Our Relationship with God According to the Book of Ephesians, and other books that have been written about Ephesians just barely scratch the surface. The scriptures in Ephesians reveal the heart of God.  They describe how God has chosen us, provided for us, and empowered us.  Personalizing the scriptures and praying them back to the Father is so powerful and edifying, I can’t begin to describe it.  As you are led, I encourage you to pray and praise these words back to the Father.

I praise you, Lord God, Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, for you, through Jesus have blessed me with every spiritual blessing in heaven.  In the Anointed One, you chose me in love before the creation of the universe to be holy and blameless in your presence. You determined in advance that through the Lord Jesus I would be your child for your pleasure and purpose so that I would bring you praise that matches the magnitude of the glory of the grace you have given me through the Jesus the Anointed One.  In union with Jesus, through the shedding of his blood, I was set free – my sins are forgiven; this equals the wealth of the grace you have lavished on me. In all your wisdom and insight you have made known to me your secret plan, which by your own will you designed beforehand in connection with the Anointed One and will put into effect when the time is ripe – your plan to place everything in heaven and on earth under the headship of Jesus the Messiah. Also in union with Jesus, I was given an inheritance, I  who was picked in advance according to the purpose of you the One who effects everything in keeping with the decision of your will, so that I, who have put my hope in Jesus, would bring you praise that equals your glory. Furthermore, I who have heard the message of the truth, the Good News that offered me deliverance, and I who have put my trust in the Messiah, am sealed by him with the promised Holy Spirit, who guarantees my inheritance until I come into possession of it and therefore bring you praise equal to your glory. Therefore, I ask you, the God of my Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I will have full knowledge of you. I pray that you give light to the eyes of my heart, so that I understand the hope to which you have called me, what rich glories there are in the inheritance you have promised me and how exceeding great is your power working in me as I trust you. It works with the same mighty strength you used when you worked in Jesus the Anointed One to raise him from the dead and to seat him at your right hand in heaven, far above every ruler, authority, power, dominion or any other name that can be named either in this world or in the world to come. Also, you put all things under his feet and made him head over everything for us the Church, which is his body, the full expression of you who fills all creation.  In Jesus’ name, I praise you, and I thank you. Amen.
