Predestinated: Our Relationship with God According to the Book of Ephesians

Review of Predestinated:

“I must confess I really love your book and one part that really got to me is the part where it says: “that power allowed Jesus to triumph over death and over hell. Not only did it raise Jesus from the dead but it promoted him above every known power and every name that was or would ever be named. That power has been given to you. That powers in you now. It’s God‘s power, given to us.“ I strongly believe that power is within me and I can use it to make a change in my world, rebuke the devil, and become a better person. Thank you so much for the powerful message. ” – W.B.

4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are
called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one
faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all,
who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians 4 :4-6

Praise God for all that he has already done. We serve a living God and a risen Savior! The word ‘one’ is so prominent in these scriptures. The word ‘one’ focuses the reader on how singular everything involving God is. God the Father himself is three in one. Jesus is Lord over one body, made up of many parts. We, as Christians, united with Christ, have one hope for salvation, Jesus. One way to make him Lord is by our faith. One way to become one with his Spirit is by one baptism. One God who is Father of us all. He is our Father; there is no other. He is predominant; there is no one higher in the spirit or in the flesh. He has chosen to work his will through us all.

4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. 5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) 6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (1 Corinthians 8:4-6)

There is but one God, no matter how many things are exalted as a god, there is but one, the Father God, Creator of All Things. There is but one Savior and Lord, Jesus the Christ who died for us, who was resurrected in power, who made it possible for us to stand before the Creator of the Universe, holy and without blame. It is through God the Father that all things exist. It is by the Lord Jesus that all things are available to us. God the Father is the source, Jesus the Christ is the access.
